AUTHORIZE the Chair of the Board of Supervisors to sign a letter of appreciation to Mr. Jeff Altman for his service
to the County during his term on the Contra Costa Transportation Authority Citizens Advisory Committee.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
BACKGROUND:
The Contra Costa Transportation Authority Citizens Advisory Committee (CCTA CAC) reviews transportation
issues pertaining to Contra Costa County, advising and providing recommendations to the CCTA Board. Among
other transportation issues, the CAC assists CCTA in reviewing the Biennial Growth Management Compliance
checklists submitted by local jurisdictions. The CAC reports directly to the CCTA Board.
The CCTA CAC is comprised of 23 members: one resident from each city, one resident from the unincorporated
County, as well as one member from each of the following organizations: The American Association of Retired
Persons (AARP), Area Council on Aging, and The League of Women Voters of Diablo Valley. Term limits are a
maximum two years.
Mr. Altman served as the representative of the unincorporated County. Mr. Altman generously dedicated his time and
expertise to the CAC. A letter acknowledging Mr. Altman's service has been prepared and is attached to this Board
Order, for signature by the Board Chair.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
County staff has begun the process of advertising the vacancy on the CAC for the unincorporated County
representative. The vacancy has been advertised via news release through various publications countywide, and
the information is available on the County website. County staff will review all application submittals and make a
recommendation to the Internal Operations Committee. Staff will also circulate applications to the Clerk of the
Board so that they are officially received by the Board of Supervisors and included in the Board's records.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Mr. Altman's service as the unincorporated Contra Costa County representative on the CCTA CAC would not be
acknowledged.
