Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-777 with Stephen B. Arnold, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $1,455,000, to
provide cardiology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC),
for the period from September 1, 2014 through August 31, 2017.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise I Fund.
BACKGROUND:
For a number of years, the County has contracted with Medical, Dental, and Mental Health Specialists to provide
specialized professional services not otherwise available in its hospital and Health Centers.
Under Contract #26-777 Contractor will provide cardiology services including clinic coverage, inpatient care, reading
cardiology studies and on-call services at CCRMC, through August 31, 2017.

If this contract is not approved, patients requiring professional cardiology services at CCRMC would not have access
to Contractor’s services, which may reduce the levels of services to the community.
