RATIFY a Memorandum of Understanding, executed by the District Attorney, with Howard University School of
Law in an amount not to exceed $2,000 for a stipend for one (1) student participating in the District Attorney's office
short term training program for the period May 20, 2014 through December 31, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The costs will not exceed $2,000.
BACKGROUND:
The District Attorney wishes to offer a short term training program for students having completed their second year
of law school. The office will benefit from giving potential future employees an introduction to different areas of the
office and giving training in the area of criminal prosecution as well as providing support for its employees; while the
students will gain important work experience and insight into the practice of criminal prosecution.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The District Attorney will not be able to execute the contract with Howard University for the short term training
program.

No impact.
