Subject:Add One (1) Program/Projects Coordinator Position to the Support Services Bureau - Technical Services Division -
ARIES
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
long term coordinator is needed to ensure that the ARIES project is run efficiently. The ARIES system is complex
and requires a great deal of expertise to fully understand. This stabilization will allow the coordinator to plan for
the future as well as have an intimate working knowledge of the ARIES system, which will lead to a more robust
and cutting edge law enforcement tool.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the position is not approved, the ARIES project will continue to be managed by rotation among newly assigned
Sheriff’s Lieutenants. Each new manager will have a significant learning curve in gaining expertise and technical
background necessary to manage the ARIES system. Without this position, the ARIES system will never reach its
full potential, nor remain on the cutting edge of technology.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact.
