Martin Mazzanti and Nancy Mazzanti, residents of Danville, presented personal examples of the benefits
implementation of Laura's Law would have for the families;
Ralph Hoffmann, resident of Walnut Creek, brought attention to a recent article in the Contra Costa Times
regarding Secretary of State Debra Bowens battle with clinical depression. Mr. Hoffmann encouraged
awareness and compassion for the condition and suggested people write a letter to Ms. Bowen to cheer her
up (handout attached);
Clif Scholfield , resident of Walnut Creek, spoke on his dissatisfaction with the amount of time required to
obtain a permit from the Conservation and Development Department.
Interim Director John Kopchik will meet with Mr. Schofield.
