ADOPT Resolution No. 2014/333 granting Nathan Johnson, County Veterans Service Officer, signatory authority for
the "Veterans Voices" grant agreement, as requested by the California Department of Veterans Affairs.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact.
BACKGROUND:
On June 3, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved and authorized the Veterans Services Director, or designee, to
apply for and accept grant funding from the California Department of Veterans Affairs, for an amount not to exceed
$27,000, to provide mental health outreach and support services through a monthly live television show, "Veteran's
Voices".
On August 7, 2014, the County Veterans Services Office received the grant agreement from the California
Department of Veterans Affairs. The Office of the County Counsel has reviewed and approved the agreement. In
order to execute the agreement, the state is requiring a resolution, order, motion, or ordinance giving the County
Veterans Service Officer signatory authority for the agreement. Therefore, the Veterans Services Office is requesting
Board approval for Resolution No. 2014/333, which grants Nathan Johnson, Veterans Services Officer,
