APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to accept the donation of a LS3-20 GPM mobile
platform freshwater purification system trailer, valued at $49,950, to assist the Office of the Sheriff's Emergency
Services Division as a disaster management tool.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No Fiscal Impact. The maintenance and insurance costs for the donated water purification trailer will be covered by
existing appropriations within the Emergency Services Division.
BACKGROUND:
Each year the Office of the Sheriff receives donations from individuals and various community organizations to help
fund programs throughout the Office of the Sheriff. Administrative Bulletin 117.7 requires County departments
receiving donations in excess of $10,000 to request approval from the Board of Supervisors prior to formal receipt.
Today's action is requesting approval to accept a LS3-20 GPM mobile platform freshwater purification system trailer,
valued at $49,950, which was donated by

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Raley's Supermarket.
The trailer will assist the Office of the Sheriff's Emergency Services Division in providing purified drinking water to
the population of Contra Costa County during emergencies and disasters where the supply of drinking water may be
limited, unavailable, or untreated.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Sheriff's Office will not be able to accept the donation.

No impact.
