Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#24-497-5 with Dharmini Harichandran, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $174,720, to
provide psychiatric services for mentally ill adults in East County for the period from September 1, 2014 through
August 31, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental and Mental Health Specialists to provide
specialized professional services, which are not otherwise available. On September 10, 2013, the Board of
Supervisors approved Contract #24-497-4 with Dharmini Harichandran, M.D. for the provision of psychiatric
services for mentally ill adults in East County, for the period from September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2014.
Approval of Contract #24-497-5 will allow Contractor to continue providing psychiatric services for mentally ill
adults in East County through August 31, 2015.
