HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09092014 - C.133RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #23-226-11 with Boehm and Associates, a partnership, effective July 24, 2014, to amend Contract #23-226-9 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #23-226-10), to increase the payment limit by $80,000, from $70,000 to a new payment limit of $150,000, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by third-party revenue from collection activities. At the time of negotiations, contract payment limit was based on anticipated commissions on amounts collected through Contractor’s efforts. Contractor has exceeded these projections. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #23-226-11 will allow the Contractor to provide additional consultation and technical assistance regarding workers’ compensation laws and recovery rights under personal injury law in third-party liability cases, through June 30, 2015. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, the Department will not have access to Contractor’s expertise regarding workers’ compensation laws and recovery rights under personal injury law in third-party liability cases.
