HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09092014 - C.115RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-437-9 with Stericycle, Inc., a corporation, effective July 1, 2014, to amend Contract #26-437-8, to increase the total payment limit by $160,000 from $550,000 to a new total payment limit of $710,000, for additional services bio-hazardous waste removal services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, with no change in the original term of April 1, 2014 through March 31, 2017. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is 100% funded in the Health Services Department Enterprise I Budget. (Rate increase) BACKGROUND: On June 17, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contact #26-437-8 with Stericycle, Inc., to provide bio-hazardous waste management removal services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Center locations, for the period from April 1, 2014 through March 31, 2017. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Approval of Amendment Agreement #26-437-9 will allow the Contractor to provide additional bio-hazardous waste removal management services including reusable sharps containers for the West County Health Center, through March 31, 2017. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, the West County Health Center would not have appropriate sharps and sharp disposal at CCRMC or the Detention Facility. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: NOT APPLICABLE.
