HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09092014 - C.106RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #24-794-7(17) with St. Helena Hospital, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $400,000, to provide inpatient psychiatric hospital services for the period from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Managed Care Allocation. (Rate increase) BACKGROUND: Assembly Bill (AB) 757, (Chapter 633, Statutes of 1994), authorized the transfer of state funding for Fee-For-Service/Medi-Cal (FFS/MC) acute psychiatric inpatient hospital services from the Department of Health Services (DHCS) to the Department of Mental Health (DMH). On October 1, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-794-7(16) with St. Helena Hospital for the period from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, for the provision of impatient psychiatric hospital services to County-referred patients, under FFS/MC funding. Approval of Contract #24–794–7(17) will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2015, including mutual indemnification to hold harmless both parties for any claims arising out of the performance of this Contract as part of their standard for approval of the Agreement with the County. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County’s mental health clients will not receive needed inpatient psychiatric services from Contractor’s facility.
