HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09092014 - C.105RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74-429-5 with Roobal Sekhon, O.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $254,720, to provide professional outpatient psychiatric services and sleep studies for the period from August 1, 2014 through July 31, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 69% by Mental Health Realignment and 31% by Enterprise Fund I, offset by third-party billing. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental and Mental Health Specialists to provide specialized professional services, which are not otherwise available. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) On September 10, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-429-4 with Roobal Sekhon, O.D. to provide geriatric psychiatric services, sleep studies and continuous positive airway pressure clinics for seriously and persistently mentally ill older adults at the County’s Adult Mental Health Clinics, for the period from August 1, 2013 through July 31, 2014. Approval of Contract #74-429-5, will allow the Contractor to continue to provide services for seriously and persistently mentally ill older adults at the County’s Adult Mental Health Clinics, through July 31, 2015. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s professional outpatient psychiatric services .
