HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09092014 - C.101RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74-448-2 with Edward Lau, MD, a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $266,240, to provide professional outpatient psychiatric services for the period from September 1, 2014 through August 31, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment, offset by third-party billing. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental and Mental Health Specialists to provide specialized professional services, which are not otherwise available. Approval of Contract #74-448-2 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through August 31, 2015. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s professional outpatient psychiatric services.
