Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#74-365-5 with Jee Hyun Guss, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $274,400 to provide
professional outpatient psychiatric services, for the period from September 1, 2014 through August 31, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment, offset by third-party billing. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental and Mental Health Specialists to provide
specialized professional services, which are not otherwise available.
On September 10, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Contract #74-365-4 with Jee Hyun Guss, M.D., to provide professional outpatient psychiatric services for adults in
Central Contra Costa County, for the period from September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2014.
Approval of Contract #74-365-5 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide psychiatric services, through August
31, 2015.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, County clients will not have access to Contractor’s professional outpatient
psychiatric services.
