HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09092014 - C.87RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director,
a purchase order amendment with ADI to increase the payment limit by $300,000 to a new payment limit of
$1,200,000 and extend the termination date from August 31, 2014 to August 31, 2015, for electronic system parts
and equipment, Countywide. (100% General Fund)
FISCAL IMPACT:
This cost is funded through the Facilities Services Fiscal Year 14/15 maintenance budget. (100% General Fund)
BACKGROUND:
In July 2010, the former General Services Department conducted a BidSync bid soliciting a vendor for low-voltage
building parts and systems. These parts are typically items used in burglar and fire alarms, video surveillance, and
access control. Posted as BidSync Bid No. 1007-005, ADI was awarded a purchase order to supply Facilities
Maintenance with these items. The original request was for two (2) years with three (3) possible one-year extensions.
This request represents the third of these extensions. Because of the importance of improving these systems, several
departments and outside agencies such as the East Bay Regional Park District are upgrading and installing systems
faster than anticipated, resulting in the need for this change order.
