HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08122014 - C.102RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract cancellation Agreement with STAT Nursing Services, Inc., effective at the close of business on August 16, 2014; and to execute a contract amendment with Cross Country Staffing, Inc. (dba Allied Health Group), effective August 17, 2014, to increase the payment limit by $250,000 to a new payment limit of $7,931,000, to provide expanded services to include Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner/Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner classifications at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Health Centers, with no change in the original term May 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. (100% Enterprise Fund I) FISCAL IMPACT: 100% funded by Enterprise Fund I. BACKGROUND: For several years the County has contracted with nursing registries to provide temporary personnel to assist Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Center (collectively CCRMC) during peak loads temporary absences and emergency situations critical areas. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Nurses, Psychiatric technicians an operating room technicians. The County was recently notified by STAT Nursing Services, Inc., that it can no longer provide services and will be closing its doors officially on August 16, 2014. In accordance with Paragraph 5 (Termination) of the Contract's General Conditions, the Department and the Contractor have agreed to a mutual cancellation of this Contract. Approval of Contract Cancellation Agreement #26-374-18 will accomplish the termination. To continue to provide these important services without interruption, Cross Country Staffing, Inc., has agreed to provide the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner/Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SANE/SAFE) services in lieu of STAT Nursing Services, Inc. The County currently has contract #26-347-22 with Cross Country Staffing, Inc., that was approved by the Board on June 3, 2014 to provide temporary medical professional services including nursing, therapy, radiology and pharmacy services for CCRMC for the period May 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. The proposed contract amendment would permit Cross Country Staffing, Inc., to provide the SANE/SAFE services through the term of their current contract. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If the contract amendment is not approved, patients requiring professional SANE/SAFE nursing services at CCRMC will not have access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the overall levels of service to the community. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable. CLERK'S ADDENDUM The materials for this item became available after the publication of the agenda packet.
