HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08122014 - C.87RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-642-10 with Chiu Hung Tung, M.D., Inc., a corporation, effective July 1, 2014, to amend Contract #26-642-8 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-642-9), to increase the payment limit by $420,000, from $1,425,000 to a new payment limit of $1,845,000, with no change in the original term of October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) procedures, and on-call coverage for the General and Obstetrics units at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2016. At the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on target levels of utilization. However, the County requested, and the Contractor agreed to increase his day and night OB On-Call shifts, thereby increasing the workload and accommodating an increase to the Contract payment limit. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-642-10 will allow the Contractor to provide additional professional anesthesiology services through September 30, 2016. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, patients requiring professional anesthesiology services will not have access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the overall levels of service to the community.
