HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08122014 - C.85RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #24–979–26 with Addiction Research and Treatment, Inc., dba Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment, a corporation, effective May 1, 2014, to amend Novation Contract #24-979-25, to increase the payment limit by $343,360, from $3,081,906 to a new payment limit of $3,425,269, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, and to increase the automatic extension payment limit by $171,682, from $1,540,953 to a new payment limit of $1,712,635, with no change in the term of the automatic extension, through December 31, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This Amendment is funded 50% by Federal Drug Medi-Cal, and 50% by State Drug Medi-Cal. No County match required. ATTESTED: August 12, 2014 David Twa, County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors By: Chris Heck, Deputy cc: A Down, C Rucker C. 85 To:Board of Supervisors From:William Walker, M.D., Health Services Director Date:August 12, 2014 Contra Costa County Subject:Amendment #24–979–26 with Addiction Research and Treatment, Inc., dba Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment BACKGROUND: On September 10, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24-979-25 with Addiction Research and Treatment, Inc., dba Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment for the period from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2014, for the provision of methadone treatment services through its Methadone Maintenance Clinics Program (Medi-Cal Drug Abuse Treatment Services) in East and West County. At the time of negotiations, the contract payment limit was determined by projecting the type and number of each service unit of the contract. This amendment adds funds and aligns service unit types to match actual units provided. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24-979-26 will allow the Contractor to provide additional methadone treatment services to Clients through June 30, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not provide additional services to County patients. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not Applicable
