Subject:Amendment #24–979–26 with Addiction Research and Treatment, Inc., dba Bay Area Addiction Research and
Treatment
BACKGROUND:
On September 10, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24-979-25 with Addiction Research
and Treatment, Inc., dba Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment for the period from July 1, 2013 through June
30, 2014, which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2014, for the provision of
methadone treatment services through its Methadone Maintenance Clinics Program (Medi-Cal Drug Abuse
Treatment Services) in East and West County.
At the time of negotiations, the contract payment limit was determined by projecting the type and number of each
service unit of the contract. This amendment adds funds and aligns service unit types to match actual units provided.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24-979-26 will allow the Contractor to provide additional methadone
treatment services to Clients through June 30, 2014.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not provide additional services to County patients.
