HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08122014 - C.72RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #24-259-55 with Center for Human Development, a non-profit corporation, effective May 1, 2014, to amend Novation Contract #24-259-54, to increase the payment limit by $65,018, from $636,338 to a new payment limit of $701,356, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, with no increase to the automatic extension payment limit of $318,169 and no change in the term of the automatic extension, through December 31, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Federal Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Primary Prevention Block Grant. On December 17, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24-259-54 with Center for Human Development for the provision of substance abuse primary prevention services, for the period from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2014. At the time of negotiations, the contract payment limit was determined based on projections of service usage. This amendment increases funding and services units to reflect actual Contractor utilization of block grant funds. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24-259-55 will allow the Contractor to provide additional substance abuse treatment services through June 30, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not be compensated for services provided in good faith County’s, high-risk youth Clients in need of substance abuse prevention and educational services.
