ADOPT Position Resolution No. 21501 adding one (1) permanent full-time (40/40) Accidental Release Prevention
Engineer (ARP Engineer)(V4SF)position and cancelling vacant permanent intermittent (40/40) Accidental Release
Prevention Engineer (ARP Engineer)(V4SF)position #11481 in the Hazardous Materials Programs division of the
Health Services Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact associated with this action.
BACKGROUND:
The Hazardous Materials Programs division of the Health Services department is looking to recruit for the Accidental
Release Prevention Engineer (ARP Engineer) position. Due to specialized nature of this position, recruiting ARP
Engineers has been challenging in previous years. The Department is looking to make one of the two ARP Engineer
vacancies permanent full time from its current permanent intermittent status. Making this change may ease the
challenge of recruiting for this difficult to fill position. Currently, the permanent intermittent position # 11481 is
allotted 40 hours/week making this change cost neutral to the County.
