HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08122014 - C.25RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Resolution No. 2014/264 to revise the provisions governing the class of Assistant County Counsel-Exempt, and reallocate the salary schedule of the class to add a sixth-step on the salary range as an outstanding performance step, as recommended by the County Administrator. FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action may result in a total annual cost of approximately $35,959, including pension costs of about $8,738. This calculation is based on performance step eligibility of all incumbents in the classification and will be absorbed by the department. BACKGROUND: This action would allow the County Counsel to award a 5% outstanding performance step when the County Counsel determines that an Assistant County Counsel-Exempt has assumed significant, additional responsibilities for assisting in the planning, coordinating and supervising of the legal, policy, or administrative concerns of the Office of the County Counsel. Upon adoption of this resolution, the adjustment could be awarded on a date other than the incumbent’s anniversary date. The adjustment would remain in effect for twelve months and, at the discretion of the County Counsel, and could be renewed for consecutive twelve month periods. The County Counsel would have the ability to terminate the adjustment at any time during the applicable twelve month period.
