HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08122014 - C.03RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a reimbursement agreement with Mark Scott Construction, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $2,000,000 for County Highway Improvements at the Livorna Road/Wilson Road Intersection, Alamo area. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% Alamo Area of Benefit Funds BACKGROUND: As part of the conditions of approval for Minor Subdivision 06-0038, Mark Scott Construction, Inc., is required to construct offsite roadway improvements along Wilson Road and Livorna Road. This includes a dedicated southbound right turn lane and dedicated eastbound left turn lane at the Livorna Road/Wilson Road Intersection. Intersection. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) project list and funded through Alamo Area of Benefit Funds. The cost of additional improvements exceeds the developer’s obligation for offsite roadway improvements at the intersection. The Public Works Department considers it necessary for the successful advancement of the project to collaborate with Mark Scott Construction, Inc., on the design and construction of the improvements. Thus, the reimbursement agreement is recommended in order to reimburse the developer for the offsite roadway improvement costs in excess of its condition of approval obligations. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If the reimbursement agreement is not approved, the implementation of the improvements will be delayed. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
