Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-760-1 with Choice Anesthesiology, PC, a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $1,200,000, to provide
professional anesthesiology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC)
for the period from August 1, 2014 through July 31, 2017.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental, and Mental Health Specialists to provide
specialized professional services that are not otherwise available in its Hospital and Health Centers.
On February 11, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-760 with Choice Anesthesiology, PC, will
provide professional anesthesiology services at CCRMC, for the period from December 1, 2013 through July 31,
2014.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
of Contract #26-760-1 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services, through July 31, 2017.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, patients requiring anesthesiology services at CCRMC will not have access to
Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the overall levels of service to the community.
