APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chair, Board of Supervisors, to execute Amendment No. 1 to Agreement No. 362
with the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) to increase the maximum compensation paid to Contra
Costa County (County) by $262,400 to a new total of $675,400, effective December 12, 2013, as recommended by
the Public Works Director, San Pablo area. Project No. 4660-6X4170
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Contra Costa Transportation Authority funds.
BACKGROUND:
CCTA requires a variety of right of way services related to the I-80/San Pablo Dam Road Interchange Improvement
Project, but has no right of way staff and has contracted with the County for these services. On December 4, 2012,
the Board of Supervisors approved the original agreement between the County and CCTA. Additional funds from
CCTA are required for the County to provide the necessary right of way services under the agreement and to provide
the additional services identified in the attached Amendment No. 1.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Accordingly, this amendment expands the total agreement value by $262,400 for a total agreement value of
$675,400. The County will complete acquisition, appraisal valuation, relocation, eminent domain, demolition;
property maintenance and file close out for the project.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
CCTA will not be able to contract for the County’s right of way services and will not meet the terms of the
agreement.
