HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07292014 - C.122RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Clerk-Recorder's request to be absent from the State for longer than thirty (30)
days, pursuant to Government Code Sections 1060-1064.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
BACKGROUND:
I have been invited to participate in an international conference on Elections/Political Reform tentatively scheduled
for early December in New Delhi. Expanding on this opportunity, it is my plan to include a Stanford Alumni Travel
Seminar into Southeast Asia.
All of these arrangements for my spouse and I are at my expense, and final dates of departure and return should be
set in early September, as they are pending various governmental clearances. I am, pursuant to Government Code
1060-1064, requesting permission from the Board of Supervisors to be absent from the State for longer than thirty
(30) days. This travel will begin after certification of the November election and will occur during December through
January, a normally quiet period in the office. I will be back well in advance for any possible special election. I will
have ongoing access to my office desktop and will be in regular communication and available via phone, fax, email,
Skype, text and any other electronic means available. Debi Cooper, Deputy County Clerk-Recorder will be acting in
my absence.
