HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07292014 - C.108RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-770 with Cabrillo Emergency Physicians Medical Group, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000, to provide temporary physicians for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC) for the period from June 15, 2014 through June 30, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. BACKGROUND: For a number of years, the County has contracted with registries to provide temporary, qualified physicians to work as temporary and permanent employees to ensure appropriate physician staff coverage at CCRMC. This contract will supplement other locums contracts and will provide additional options in finding qualified Emergency Department physicians, as Cabrillo is a local company with a large cadre of local physicians. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, patients requiring physician services at CCRMC will not have access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the levels of service to the community.
