HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07292014 - C.106RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #24-710-1 with Youth Homes Incorporated, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $668,000, to provide a Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Full Service Partnership (FSP) for transitional age youth who are experiencing mental illness, for the period from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 57% by the Mental Health Services Act and 43% by Federal Financial Participation. On January 14, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-710 with Youth Homes Incorporated, for the provision of a MHSA funded FSP for transitional age youth, for the period from December 5, 2013 through June 30, 2014. Approval of Contract #24-710-1, will allow Contractor to continue to provide services, through June 30, 2015. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, transitional-aged youth in Contra Costa County will not have access to Contractor’s mental health services, leading to reduced levels of service to the community and potential placement in higher levels of care. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
