Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#22–806–22 with Public Health Foundation Enterprises, Inc., a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed
$514,236, to provide consultation and technical assistance with regard to community health promotion for County’s
Community Education and Information unit and Emergency Medical Services unit, for the period from July 1, 2014
through June 30, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 51% Federal Bioterrorism Grant; 25% fees; and 24% County General Funds. (No rate
increase)
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing organization services for the Public
Health’s Health Emergency Unit and Health Services Emergency Medical Service Unit. Services provided

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
by this Contract also include leadership and public health advocacy training.
On May 14, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #22–806–21 with Public Health Foundation
Enterprises, Inc., for the period from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, for the provision of consultation and
technical assistance with regard to community health promotion.
Approval of Contract #22–806–22 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2015.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
If this contract is not approved, County residents who depend on services from Public Health Emergency Unit and
Health Services Emergency Medical Service Unit may not receive the services they need.
