HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07292014 - C.95RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #27-745-4 with Suraj Cherry, M.D., a sole proprietor, effective July 1, 2014, to amend Contract #27-745-3, to increase the payment limit by $90,000, from $170,000 to a new payment limit of $260,000, with no change in the original term of March 1, 2013 through February 28, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Member premiums. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On May 7, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-745-3 with Suraj Cherry, M.D. for the provision of professional ophthalmology services, for the period from March 1, 2013 through February 28, 2015. At the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on target levels of utilization. However, based on revised projections, actual usage will exceed the target levels by the end of the Contract term. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
