BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

On November 5, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #74-360-4 with the Jewish Family and
Children’s Services of the East Bay, for the period July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, which included a six-month
automatic extension through December 31, 2014.

continue to provide MHSA prevention and early intervention services through June 30, 2015.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, there will be fewer services provided to eligible adult clients in Contra Costa County
through the Mental Health Services Act, Proposition 63 Community Services and Support Program.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This MHSA-PEI program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Families that are
Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and
Families”. Expected program outcomes include increases in social connectedness, communication skills, parenting
skills, and knowledge of the human service system in Contra Costa County.
