HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07292014 - C.69RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Probation Officer, or designee, to execute a contract with STAND! For Families Free of Violence in the amount of $120,626 to provide parenting training for participants ages 14-25 who are involved with the criminal justice system, for the period of July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: $120,626; 100% State Proud Parenting Grant Program. Funding for Parenting Training is received from the Proud Parenting Grant awarded by the Board of State and Community Corrections and will not require any General Funds. BACKGROUND: On June 3, 2014 the Contra Costa County Probation Department applied to the Board of State and Community Corrections for funds to continue facilitation of Proud Parenting Programs for young fathers and mothers involved in the criminal justice system, for the period July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. The Department was successful in its application and will now enter into a contract with STAND! to continue services for youth ages 14-25 involved in the criminal justice system. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The Probation Department will be unable to contract with STAND! For Families Free of Violence for Proud Parenting services.
