HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07292014 - C.68RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-585-6 with L. Evan Custer, M.D., a self-employed individual, effective July 1, 2014, to amend Contract #26-585-5, to increase the payment limit by $215,000, from $667,500 to a new payment limit of $882,500, with no change in the original term of December 1, 2012 through November 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On December 4, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-585-5 with L. Evan Custer, M.D. for the provision of professional radiology services, including consultation, training, clinic coverage, on-call, supervision and interpretation of CT Scans, Ultrasounds and plain films, for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, (CCRMC), for the period from December 1, 2012 through November 30, 2015. Evan Custer, M.D. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) of utilization. The County requested and the Contractor agreed to provide additional clinics due to a staff reduction in the department. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-585-6 will allow the Contractor to provide additional professional radiology services at CCRMC through November 30, 2015. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, patients at CCRMC requiring radiology services will not have access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the levels of service to the community.
