HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07292014 - C.56RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, on behalf of the Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County, to apply for and accept U.S. Department of Labor, Design it, Build it, Ship it grant funding from Contra Costa Community College District, in an amount not to exceed $175,000 for services in support of Trade Adjustment Act/Community College and Career Training programs for the period June 1, 2014 through September 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: County to receive $175,000 (100% Federal) from the Contra Costa Community College District, U.S. Department of Labor Design It Build it Ship it grant. No County match. The Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County will provide support to work readiness and career exploration activities; provide staffing to supplement job development and placement activities; and, development of an iterative process for supporting the pathway mapping process with ongoing analysis of labor market data and occupational trends. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Without funding, Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County would be unable to implement and deliver planned services.
