For Families Free of Violence, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation. DIRECT the Real Estate Division to have the above referenced Quitclaim Deed recorded in the Office of the County Recorder (WLP851) FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. BACKGROUND: On July 18, 1989, Contra Costa County entered into a ground lease with the Family Stress Center, Inc. a California nonprofit public benefit corporation (Center). The purpose of the ground lease was to provide the Center with a building site for the development of a family counseling facility for the residents of Contra Costa County. On July 1, 2010, the Center merged with STAND! For Families Free of Violence, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation (STAND!) which assumed the ground lease. STAND! has given formal notice to terminate the ground lease on August 31, 2014. According to the ground lease, upon termination of the lease, said improvements shall become the property of County and STAND! agrees to execute a Quitclaim Deed to guarantee the County’s clear title to the property. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The County would not have clear title to the property. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
