HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07292014 - C.52RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21489 to add one (1) Deputy Probation Officer III (7ATA) (represented) position at salary plan and grade PP5 1574 ($5,007 - $6,086) in the Probation Department. FISCAL IMPACT: Salary and Benefits for FY 14/15 total $168,228. The FY 14/15 salary and benefit costs of this position will be funded entirely with Office of Traffic Safety grant funds. BACKGROUND: The Contra Costa County Probation Department has received Office of Traffic Safety grant funding since 2006. Said funds are provided for the community supervision of high risk DUI offenders. Additional grant funding was received for FY 14/15 allowing the Probation Department to expand the supervision of DUI offenders by adding one more Deputy Probation Officer (DPO). Adding this position will increase the Probation Department's ability to supervise high risk DUI offenders in the community, effective October 1, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The Probation Department will be unable to add a Deputy Probation Officer Position for DUI offender supervision.
