FISCAL IMPACT: None. BACKGROUND: The Contra Contra Costa Mental Health Commission was established to review and evaluate the community's mental health needs, services, facilities, and special problems; to review any County agreements entered into pursuant to Section 5650 of the Welfare and Institutions Code; to advise the governing body and local mental health director as to any aspect of the local mental health program; to submit an annual report to the Board of Supervisors; review and make recommendations regarding the appointment of a local director of mental health services; review the County's performance outcome data and communicate its findings to the State Mental Health Commission; and assess the impact of the realignment of services from the State to the County on services delivered APPROVE OTHER RECOMMENDATION OF CNTY ADMINISTRATOR RECOMMENDATION OF BOARD COMMITTEE Action of Board On: 07/29/2014 APPROVED AS RECOMMENDED OTHER Clerks Notes: VOTE OF SUPERVISORS AYE:John Gioia, District I Supervisor Candace Andersen, District II Supervisor Mary N. The current incumbent in the seat has notified the Chair of the Commission that he has accepted employment with an organization which is party to a contract with the Health Services Department, Mental Health Division. Under the current rules, an employee of a contractor may not serve on the Commission. Therefore, he has resigned his seat. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The consumers in District V would not have representation on the Commission CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
