HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07292014 - C.19RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute the Ambrose Recreation & Park District Co-Sponsorship Application, effective August 5, 2014, for the 2014 National Night Out event. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. The Ambrose Recreation & Park District is not charging for this event. BACKGROUND: National Night Out is an annual event to promote community involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, and neighborhood camaraderie. It involves over 16,124 communities from all fifty states, U.S. Territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide. In partnership with Ambrose Recreation & Park District (District), the Bay Point Municipal Advisory Committee (BPMAC) and Bay Point National Night Out Sub-Committee participate annually in the national event, which allows the sub-committee to register with the National Association of Town Watch. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The annual event promoting crime prevention activities would be cancelled.
