HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07082014 - C.87RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #26-601-6 with Landrus Pfeffinger, M.D., a self-employed individual, effective May 1,
2014, to amend Contract #26-601-5, to increase the payment limit by $15,000, from $125,000 to a new payment limit
of $140,000, with no change in the original term of June 1, 2013 through May 31, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On June 25, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-601-5 with Landrus Pfeffinger, M.D. for the
provision of orthopedic services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Centers and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the
period from June 1, 2013 through May 31, 2015. At the time the Contract was negotiated, the payment limit was
based on target levels of utilization. However, the Division did not include enough funds to allow the Contractor to
provide the services needed through the term of this Contract. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement
#26-601-6 will allow the Contractor to provide additional orthopedic services through May 31, 2015.
