HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07082014 - C.79RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #24-712-1 with Telecare Corporation, a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $2,017,019, to provide and manage services for Hope House, a sixteen (16) bed short-term residential facility, for mentally ill adults for the period from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 39% by Federal Financial Participation and 61% by Mental Health Services Act. BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing a short-term crisis residential facility for adults, age eighteen (18) and older, who require support to avoid hospitalization or are being discharged from the hospital or long-term locked facilities and require step-down care to transition to community living. Approval of Contract #24-712-1, will allow Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2015. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County clients in need of crisis residential or step-down care will not have access to Contractor’s services possibly resulting in higher levels of placement, including hospitalization.
