APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute a contract with the State of California
Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST), including full indemnification of the State of
California, to pay the County an amount not to exceed $90,000 for the instruction of accredited Driving Simulator
and Force Option Simulator courses for the period July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No County Costs. $90,000; 100% Revenue, State of California. Budgeted in fiscal year 2014/15.
BACKGROUND:
The Office of the Sheriff - Law Enforcement Training Center provides State Commission on Peace Officer Standards
and Training (POST)-approved driving simulator and force option simulator instruction to law enforcement
personnel in order to ensure up-to-date training. This contract will enable the Sheriff's Office to recover the costs of
this instruction for up to 90 students at a cost not to exceed $1,000 per student.
