HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07082014 - C.02RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Traffic Resolution No. 2014/4415 declaring a two-way stop controlled intersection at Hemme Avenue (Road No. 4337E) and La Sonoma Drive/La Sonoma Way (Road No.4337G & 4337T), Alamo area. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. BACKGROUND: The intersection of Hemme Avenue and La Sonoma Drive/La Sonoma Way is currently uncontrolled. The County’s Public Works Department Traffic Engineering staff recently initiated an investigation of the intersection to determine if a two-way stop control of the intersection is warranted. The analysis included study of the existing intersection geometry, sight line limitations, traffic volume data, pedestrian volumes and collision history. Based on this investigation, it has been determined that a two-way stop controlled intersection at Hemme Avenue and La Sonoma Drive/La Sonoma Way is warranted. Therefore, the Public Works Department recommends the intersection be declared a two-way stop controlled intersection to enhance the orderly flow of traffic, improve pedestrian safety, and allow enforcement of the traffic regulation.
