More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease,
including an estimated 200,000 individuals under age 65 with
younger-onset Alzheimer’s. That number is set to reach as many as
16 million by 2050.

Total national cost of caring for people with Alzheimer’s and other
dementias will reach $214 billion in 2014. That number is set to
reach $1.2 trillion in 2050.

Nearly one in every five dollars spent by Medicare is
on someone with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.

As real a concern as breast cancer is to women's health, women
in their 60s are about twice as likely to develop Alzheimer’s over
the rest of their lives as they are to develop breast cancer.

Empower: More than 13 million American women are either living with Alzheimer’s or
caring for someone who has the disease. The Alzheimer’s Association encourages women to
use their brains to help wipe out Alzheimer’s disease by joining our women’s initiative.
