HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06242014 - C.71RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-536-10 with Jeffrey L. Stern, M.D., a professional corporation, effective May 1, 2014, to amend Contract #26-536-7 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #26-536-8 and #26-536-9), to increase the payment limit by $103,000, from $367,000 to a new payment limit of $470,000, with no change in the original term of October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On September 20, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-536-7 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #26-536-8 and #26-536-9) with Jeffrey L. Stern, M.D., APC, for the provision of professional gynecology/oncology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2014. Stern, M.D., APC BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) additional clinic hours, due to the departure of one physician no longer performing these certain procedures at CCRMC. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-536-10 will allow the Contractor to provide additional hours of professional gynecology/oncology services at CCRMC through September 30, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, patients requiring professional gynecology/oncology services at CCRMC will not have access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the overall levels of service to the community.
