HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06242014 - C.69RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-552-5 with Bailey T. Lee, M.D., a self-employed individual, effective May 1, 2014, to amend Contract #26-552-3 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #26-552-4), to increase the payment limit by $20,000, from $480,000 to a new payment limit of $500,000, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2016. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On August 6, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-552-3 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #26-552-4) with Bailey T. Lee, M.D., for the provision of professional radiology services including consultation, on-call coverage, supervision and interpretation of CT scans, MRIs, Ultrasounds, invasive procedures, and plain films at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2016. Lee, M.D. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) At the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on target levels of utilization. However, the utilization during he contract was higher than originally anticipated. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-552-5 will allow the Contractor to provide additional professional radiology services at CCRMC through June 30, 2016. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, patients requiring professional radiology services will not have access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the overall levels of service to the community.
