APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with
STAND! For Families Free of Violence, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $222,470 to provide
shelter services for battered women and their children for the period July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$222,470: 37.5% County General Fund; 62.5% Marriage License Fee
BACKGROUND:
This contract addresses the social needs of the County's population in that it provides a crisis call center number 24
hours per day/7 days a week, and provides at least 7000 emergency shelter bed days to a minimum of 100 women
and children in crisis situations. Contractor is a domestic violence shelter-based agency providing services to
domestic violence victims and their children in compliance with the requirements of California Welfare and
Institutions Code section 18294.

Employment and Human Services will be unable to provide valuable services
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This contract supports two of the community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card, 4) "Families that
are Safe, Stable and Nurturing" and 5) "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children
and Families". Expected program outcomes include a safe environment where victims of abuse can receive
appropriate support and follow-up services.
