ADOPT Resolution No. 2014/187 to approve and authorize the Employment and Human Services Director, or
designee, to execute a contract with the California Department of Aging, to pay County an amount not to exceed
3,780,590 for Older Americans Act Title III and Title VII services for the period July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
County to receive an amount not to exceed $3,780,590 from California Department of Aging (Agreement
AP-1415-07). 7% State, 93% Federal. Minimum County General Fund match required is $165,001 and is available
within the Department's budget.
BACKGROUND:
The Employment and Human Services Department, Area Agency on Aging, provides services to low income older
residents of Contra Costa County as defined by Title III and Title VII of the Older Americans Act. Services include,
but are not limited to disease prevention and health promotion, nutrition counseling and nutrition risk screening,
mediation management, information through multipurpose senior centers, congregate meal sites, home delivered
meal programs, information services at appropriate sites to low income residents, elder abuse prevention, and
ombudsman services.
