HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06172014 - PR.1RECOMMENDATION(S): RECOGNIZE the dispatchers and emergency responders for their roles in managing a multi-casualty incident at the Concord Pavilion. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. BACKGROUND: On May 25, 2014, the Concord Pavilion hosted the Stone Soul Concert. The weather forecast was 90+ degrees with over 10,000 tickets sold. The high heat combined with the activity of the day lead to an event where over 60 individuals required medical aid. The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, with many allied agencies, managed and cared for the people at this event. This occurrence highlights the all hazards capabilities of the Fire District and also serves as a reminder that a day of fun can create a hazardous situation.
