HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06172014 - C.93RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-437-8 with Stericycle, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $550,000, for the provision of hazardous waste management services at the County's health care facilities, for the period from April 1, 2014 through March 31, 2017. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (Rates increased) BACKGROUND: On May 10, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contact #26-437-5 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #26-437-6 and #26-437-7) with Stericycle, Inc., to provide bio-hazardous waste management removal services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Center locations, for the period from April 1, 2011 through March 31, 2014. Stericycle Inc. is now the sole source of bio-hazardous waste removal services in Northern California and has provided service to the County for the past seven (7) years. Approval of Contract #26-437-8 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through March 31, 2017.
