HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06172014 - C.91RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Monument Impact, formerly Concord Community Development Organization, Inc., dba Michael Chavez Center, to increase the payment limit by $8,076 to a new payment limit of $137,353 for job skills and placement services for limited and Non-English speaking California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CALWORKs) participants, and extend the term from October 31, 2014 to November 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: $129,277: 100% CalWORKS single Allocation BACKGROUND: Contra Costa County California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) participants are composed of many cultures and languages. For those participants who are non-English speaking, the Employment and Human Services Department has contract with Monument Impact, formerly Concord Community Economic Development Organization, dba Michael Chavez Center, to provide job skills workshops, job search, and job club activities. This contract is amended and extended to provide for a competitive bid. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Job services for non-English speaking CalWORKs participants will not be provided.
