Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #26-759-1 with Medical Anesthesia Consultants Medical Group, Inc., a corporation,
effective April 1, 2014, to amend Contract #26-759, to modify the payment provisions and service plan with no
change in the payment limit of $150,000 and no change in the original term of March 1, 2014 through February 28,
2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On March 25, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-759 with Medical Anesthesia Consultants
Medical Group, Inc. for the provision of professional anesthesia services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center
and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC) including consultation, training, medical procedures, and on-call
coverage for General and Obstetrics Units, for

Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-759-1 will allow the Contractor to provide, an additional level of
services to include weekend, on-call and in-house critical care services at CCRMC through February 28, 2015.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, patients requiring professional anesthesia services will not have access to
Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the levels of service to the community.
